Top 3 Reasons Why We Recommend Early Wisdom Teeth Removal
Impaction
Wisdom teeth may not have enough room to emerge properly, causing them to become impacted (stuck beneath the gum line). This can lead to pain, infection, or damage to surrounding teeth.
Infection or Gum Disease
Wisdom teeth are located at the back of the mouth, making them harder to clean. This can lead to cavities, infection, or gum disease, which may require extraction to prevent further oral health problems.
Alignment Issues
If the wisdom teeth emerge in the wrong direction, they can push against neighboring teeth, causing crowding or shifting of the rest of the teeth. Extraction helps prevent these alignment problems.
How common is tooth loss?
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that in the United States, an average of 12 teeth (including the wisdom teeth) are lost by the age of 50. Also, 26% of adults between 65 and 74 years of age have lost all their teeth.

Harmony Oral & Facial Surgery

I had a very pleasant experience at Harmony Oral & Facial Surgery when I needed to have a 30-year-old implant removed. The entire staff was very professional and personable. My dentist referred me to Dr. Patel to evaluate my loose implant. Dr. Patel carefully explained her recommendation to remove the implant and was able to perform the procedure immediately. The procedure was a breeze and the follow-up a week later indicated that the area had healed nicely. I would highly recommend Dr. Patel!

Harmony Oral & Facial Surgery

I just want to say, I am thankful Dr. Patel was our in-network provider. My daughter recently had all 4 of her wisdom removed, one being close to a nerve. Dr. Patel and her staff beginning with consultation to surgery day and afterwards was amazing. Everything was explained to us in detail and the procedure went as discussed. My daughter had very little pain afterwards, swelling on cheeks which is to be expected but that is all. Our post-op goody bag had everything that we initially needed. The icing on the cake was Dr. Patel calling later that night to check to see how her patient was doing. I would definitely recommend Harmony and Oral Facial, in fact already have.
